Course summary
Location: This Teesside University award is delivered at our London Here East campus, part of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Start dates: September, November and January - visit www.tees.ac.uk/london/studentlife for details. Course overview: Are you a creative that loves visual effects? Study our visual effects degree and you can combine your artistic skills with cutting-edge creative technology to bring your passion to life. Using visual effects in film, TV and media shows no signs of slowing down. Regular advances in hardware and software mean that it isn’t as necessary to make traditional, expensive effects. Creatives are now only limited by their imaginations in creating virtual worlds and experiences - with so many being developed in the UK. As a visual effects artist, you create lands, worlds and amazing effects - from storyboards to concept art. On this course, you develop your practical skills and explore specialised areas including digital compositing, photo-real texturing and surfaces, hard surface modelling, shaders, material, lighting and effects, concept art, environment art and effects animation. After the course: Graduates may go on to work as artists, effects animators, pipeline specialists and digital visual experts. You develop skills for a career in digital media - typically in film, TV, advertising and multimedia - through to architectural and product visualisation.
