Kingston Maurward is please to be working with Pearson BTEC to offer an Higher National Diploma in Animal Management. The course is highly industry focused with great opportunity to develop practical as well as academic skills. The course has eight units in the first year:

  • Animal Health and Welfare
  • Business and Business Environment
  • Animal Anatomy and Physiology
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Ecological Principles
  • Animal Behaviour in Society
  • Animal Nutrition
  • Managing a Successful Project
These develop core skills and knowledge in Animal Behaviour, Welfare, Ecology and Husbandry. In the second year, students may elect to choose option units on pathways aimed at progression into Companion Animal Management or Animal Conservation. Core modules:

  • Anthrozoology
  • Animal Breeding and Genetics
  • Work Experience

The course will provide routes into employment in the Animal Management industry or progression to BSc Top Up programmes at Kingston Maurward or other Universities and Colleges in the UK.
