Physiotherapy is a constantly evolving profession which requires practitioners to demonstrate best practice in the best interests of service users. Our MSc Advanced Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) programme advances your knowledge of physiotherapy practice specific to musculoskeletal conditions through the combination of theoretical and practical teaching. You will be encouraged to reflect upon current practice, utilising research literature to critically analyse, challenge and evaluate the evidence base. The programme is carefully designed to advance your understanding within the speciality, exploring core areas such as applied clinical anatomy and the physiology or neuromusculoskeletal tissue. You will consider how management and treatment is delivered holistically for each patient, having the opportunity to select from a range of clinically focused modules ranging from assessment using musculoskeletal ultrasound to treatment using injection therapy. Entry requirements

Candidates should normally have a first or second class honours degree in physiotherapy. Candidates without degrees may be considered on an individual basis. Candidates may need to satisfy additional requirements for some option modules, such as providing: Evidence of the candidate’s experience in assessing and treating certain patient groups. Written support from their line manager and a named clinical mentor. Evidence of current registration with an appropriate professional governing body and third-party insurance, and evidence of all mandatory training within their own organization.
