Study a course that has produced sports therapists for over 20 years As a sports therapist, you are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team that is necessary to provide the best care, injury management and rehabilitation for both sporting and non-sporting participants regardless of age and ability. Accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists, this course has produced therapists that have continued on into a variety of careers within the sport sector for over 20 years. The course utilises the principles of sport and exercise sciences, incorporating physiological and pathological processes as you broaden and deepen your understanding of sports therapy through the academic study of sports medicine and sports science. You will develop excellent clinical skills, sound clinical reasoning and depth of knowledge that provide you with the ability to work autonomously. On this course you will:
- Develop your understanding of the concepts of sports medicine and sports science, with a focus on physiological and pathological processes.
- Learn to plan and implement appropriate independent treatment regimens for injured patients.
- Gain hands-on experience by working with both injured students and staff, before moving on to working outside the university to support your learning.
- Work to develop excellent clinical, examination and assessment skills.
