A criminology degree can lead to jobs outside of criminal justice. It can include; social work, youth services, third sector, support services, local authorities and education. Build on the knowledge you learnt during your Foundation Degree, and continue to focus on enhancing your academic understanding and professional abilities. For each module, you will concentrate on developing research, organisational, project management and problem-solving skills, preparing you for a rewarding career in criminal justice. All our course content stays on top of the current trends and latest changes in the sector. You’ll learn from case studies and up-to-date research and reports; the teaching team have close links with relevant employers to inform the curriculum. A mixture of lecturers and seminars will take place at UCEN Manchester By the end of the degree, you will have everything you need to follow an exciting career path in the public or private sector, law enforcement and across the prison, probation and civil services.

Qualification requirements

Foundation Degree or HND or an equivalent Level 5 qualification in a related subject. Recognition of prior learning/experience will be accepted in line with the University policy and procedures. Applicants who do not meet the standard entry criteria but have previous learning towards a degree-level qualification or relevant industry or life experience will be considered on an individual basis and may be invited to interview. Applicants initially may be required to attend an interview and complete an interview task. Mature applicants (aged 21 or over) who are able to demonstrate relevant skills or knowledge gained in employment or vocational activity will be considered and may be invited to interview.
