Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is EQUIS and AACSB accredited, which are internationally recognised hallmarks of excellence and quality for business education. We are one of only six UK business schools recognised as a PRME Champion, and held up as an exemplar by the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME). NBS is also recognised by the Small Business Charter, as we play an effective role in supporting small businesses, local economies and student entrepreneurship. Developed with companies and reflecting the changing corporate world, this highly relevant course covers a broad range of management functions, processes and techniques associated with running a business. It is the ideal choice if you want to keep your options open and shape your career aspirations during your studies. This course will equip you with an understanding of business theory and practice in today’s domestic and international business environments. It follows a broad curriculum and covers key disciplines at all three levels. During your studies you will learn about the key facilities within business such as operations, marketing, accounting and finance to provide you with a comprehensive overview of how each of these functions impact real-world businesses across the globe. BA (Hons) Business (Sandwich) achieved 100% student satisfaction (National Student Survey 2022). This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) providing our students with a dual-award status. This course can be studied over three years full-time or four years with a placement, and offers all students the opportunity to gain some industry experience or travel overseas to study abroad in one of our partner universities with our unique opportunities scheme.

Modules

Year One: Six core modules. Year Two: Three core modules, plus two specialist modules and one optional module. Full-time students have the option to replace the specialist and optional modules with a unique half-year opportunity, which include studying abroad, setting up an enterprise, and an industry internship. Year Three: Placement year for students on the four-year course. Final Year: Five core modules plus one optional module. Modules cover a number of subjects including Foundations of Managing and Organising, Employment and Enterprise, Essentials of Business Development, Accounting and Finance for Managers, Principles of Marketing, Managing Creativity, Design and Innovation, Survey Research and Analysis for Business, Comparative and International Management and Strategic Marketing.
