Course summary

The Advanced Occupational Therapy MSc provides high quality CPD opportunities for occupational therapists from the UK and overseas. Core modules on the course focus on the four pillars of clinical practice (clinical practice, leadership and management, education and research) and help you to develop complex decision-making skills, apply evidence-based practice and develop innovative solutions that will enhance patient, family and carer experience and improve clinical outcomes. The course supports a multicultural exchange of clinical knowledge and approaches, which gives an exciting extra dimension to learning. This course has been designed in alignment with The Multi-Professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England. Campus where this course is taught Our Eastbourne-based courses will move to the Falmer, Brighton campus from the academic year 2024–2025. Students starting this course in September 2022 or September 2023 will be based at our Falmer, Brighton campus from September 2024 if they are still studying.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements listed here are our typical offer for this course if you wish to begin studying with us in 2020. They should be used as a general guide. This course is for qualified occupational therapists. Applicants should hold an honours degree in occupational therapy but those with suitable alternative qualifications, such as a diploma in occupational therapy, will be considered. Normally a minimum of two years clinical experience post qualification is required for entry to this course. IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each element.

Optional field trips, accommodation and course materials are not included in the tuition fees and you will need to pay for these yourself. Please contact the school that delivers your course about possible extra costs before you apply. The tuition fees for part-time postgraduate courses depend on how many modules you take in the year. For example, if you study half of the modules that a full-time student would study, you will pay 50% of the full-time fee.
