Course summary

This master's covers the core subjects of Maritime Engineering Science for both the design and analysis of marine craft and structures within the marine environment. You can choose from five themes, each covers a broad context alongside an in-depth specialisation of your choice. On this pathway, you'll specialise in the analysis, design and performance of yachts, small craft and other high-performance vessels. This course is ideal if you are a graduate or professional with an engineering, scientific or mathematical background, and want to pursue a career in the maritime sector. Specialist knowledge of the discipline isn't essential, as we'll provide you with an introductory module to the fundamentals of Ship Science.

Modules

Compulsory modules include: Fundamentals of Ship Science; Maritime Safety: Risk, Environment and Law; MSc Research Project; Composites Engineering Design and Mechanics; Sailing Yacht and Powercraft Design; Yacht and High-Performance Craft.
