Course summary

The energy industries, which include power, oil and gas, mining and renewable energy, are among the few that are growing worldwide, as the transition to a low carbon economy gathers pace. Learn about the multiple and complex challenges facing this industry, such as decarbonisation, wide scale digitisation, and decentralisation. A decision-maker, such as a CEO, government minister, or managing director, has to understand competing views, compare their implications, and determine a suitable way forward. You will learn about fundamental concepts and how to formulate the necessary steps to carry out these changes. You'll be equipped to become or to assist C-suite decision-makers in the energy industries. You will learn to analyse, synthesise, and articulate concepts and practices relevant to the energy industry. You will understand the fundamental drivers of various energy markets, such as oil, gas, and electric power. You'll acquire foundational and contextual knowledge and skills in management, through classroom and work-based learning,and coaching from specialist academics or senior industry professionals.
