Course summary

The course focuses on developing the skills, coaching techniques, game analysis and sports science knowledge necessary to improve golf performance. Students will have the opportunity to further develop their sport science skills, working with the College's Golf Academy members and fellow students to enrich their golf performance work experience.

Modules

Year 1 - Academic and Professional Skills; Sports Performance (double module); Coaching Principles and Practice; Introduction to Sports Psychology; Introduction to Biomechanics and Physiology. Year 2 - Talent Identification and Sport Development; Research Development; Sports Performance Analysis; Training and Conditioning for Sport Performance; Industry Project; Coaching for Sport Performance.

Qualification requirements

Normally 5 GCSEs Including Maths and English (or equivalents) are required, however, applicants are advised to check with the University Centre if they do not possess the specific qualifications. The University Centre may consider applicants with work experience within a relevant industry in place of some qualifications. Applicants who believe they may be eligible for Accreditation of Prior Certificated and/or Experiential Learning (APCL/APEL) will be considered on an individual basis.
