Course summary

Play with the building blocks of language while gaining practical German language skills. Through linguistics you'll gain an understanding of what language is, how it works and how it shapes our lives. Our immersive approach to German language teaching uses authentic materials to give you the skills and cultural knowledge to function as a high-level communicator, whether you're developing your A level German or learning from scratch on our ab initio route.

Although we do not typically hold interviews for this course, mature candidates and those with special circumstances and/or qualifications may be invited to attend an interview. We may also interview candidates who are native speakers or who have lived in a country where they have been immersed in the language they wish to study, to ascertain suitability for the course. We consider a wide range of qualifications for entry. We may also make reduced offers where applicants are eligible for our contextual offer scheme, or are taking specific additional qualifications.
