Course information This full-time course provides a sound knowledge and understanding of the essential core disciplines within motorsport engineering, and equips graduates with the skills and depth of knowledge required to pursue a career within the motorsport or automotive industries.The course will give you a professional foundation for a range of technical and management careers in the motorsport or automotive industries. This course is based at the MET's Shoreham Airport campus with access to race vehicles, performance engines and aerospace resources, along with other bespoke resources at the campus, such as industry standard testing, design and analysis tools for CAD, FEA and CFD, such as Solid-works as well as many others. You will gain a raised awareness of the social, legal and human aspects of the industry, as well as the ability to apply basic engineering principles and analytical techniques to problem formulation and solution. The FdEng (Foundation Degree) qualification is awarded after two years, following which students have the option of applying for the one-year top-up course that leads to the BSc degree. Graduates of this course have gone on to work in Formula 1, as research and development engineers as well as pit-crew, vehicle designers with major manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Ford, Jaguar, Ricardo and Land Rover - or into the world of motorsport with a variety of race teams.
