The course enables students to develop their knowledge and skills in relation to animal welfare with an emphasis on individual animal's health. The increasing public awareness of animal welfare is driving employment prospects and careers in this area.

Normally 5 GCSEs Including Maths and English (or equivalents) are required, however, applicants are advised to check with the University Centre if they do not possess the specific qualifications. The University Centre may consider applicants with work experience within a relevant industry in place of some qualifications. Applicants who believe they may be eligible for Accreditation of Prior Certificated and/or Experiential Learning (APCL/APEL) will be considered on an individual basis.
