Course summary
Our HNC Electrical and Electronic Engineering course can be studied as a stand-alone qualification, or as the first year of the HND qualification. During this Level 4 course you will gain a broad understanding of Electrical Engineering principles. Delivered alongside the HNC Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering course, our expert tutors will give you a strong, sector-related emphasis on practical skills, and will help you to develop your existing knowledge of engineering. You will be able to expand your understand of mathematics, modern design, and electrical techniques, as well as mechanical principles to give you a broad understanding of all industrial needs. By the end of the course you will have developed a good mix of practical and employability skills to further your career or progress onto higher levels of study.
Modules
During the course your modules will explore the details and principles that underpin analytical methods and engineering science. You will also undertake a personal project that will require you to use your creative abilities to design, implement and evaluate a solution to an engineering problem. You may also decide to expand your knowledge in advanced electrical and electronic principles and the measurement and testing of electronics to complete the qualification. Core modules:
