You will engage with theories about learning for both children and adults, which you will then critically reflect upon as an educator, leader, or stakeholder. Critical thinking, research, and evidence-informed practice are embedded throughout the curriculum to enhance your critical awareness of the subject. What’s more, you’ll undertake self-reflection as this degree challenges you to reflect and review values and philosophies of education and learning as you draw upon your own practice throughout your study. This key element of this MA Education degree will allow you to progress as an educator as you engage with innovative research and multiple perspectives.

Assessment method

You will study six 20 credit modules and a 60 credit dissertation. You will be assessed via a range of assessment types including reflective commentaries, literature reviews, presentations, critical analysis, portfolios and research reports. You will also complete a 15,000 word dissertation based on your research interests. There are no exams.


Entry requirements

A good undergraduate degree (2:2 or above) and two supporting academic/professional references. We recognise that some applicants may not meet these standard requirements, yet may be desirable candidates with other and appropriate skills and knowledge. In this case they may be offered the opportunity to complete an orientation module or a portfolio to demonstrate their ability to work at level 7. Applicants may be asked to attend an interview.
