This virtual learning environment includes a ‘My Study Skills’ area, pages which offer insightful information about the key skills that are needed for this level of study. Covering topics like academic writing, how to effectively take notes, practical thinking and more. Foundation Year Modules Developing Academic Skills Using Numeracy, Data & IT Research Skills and Using Information Values, Ethics & Working Collaboratively Structure of Business Technology in Organisations Year 2 Developing Personal and Management Skills Understanding the Business Environment Principles of Marketing Introduction to Finance People in Organisations Management Information Systems Year 3 Managing Across Cultures Business Processes Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Business Analysis Managing Knowledge Managing Change in Organisations Year 4 Contemporary Management Issues Strategic Management Managing Self and Others International Management Research Methods and Dissertation Assessments: We use a variety of assessment methods at Arden to give you the opportunity to demonstrate a wide range of strengths. These could include: Assignments, Case Studies, Reports, Business Plans, Business Idea Pitches, Group Presentations, and a Dissertation. To support your development and ensure you are on the right track with your studies, you will receive feedback on every assessment you submit. Your lecturer may be able to give you suggestions for improvement and help you understand how to apply your newly acquired skills into real-life settings.

Qualification requirements

Candidates for our Distance Learning BA (Hons) Business Degree with Foundation Year are required to submit a personal statement (of between 350-550 words) or interview demonstrating an ability to study the programme at Arden University, taking into account: Your motivation for undertaking the programme Relevant work experience Prior qualifications References If your previous study was not in English, you will also need to have IELTS 6.0 or equivalent (no less than 5.5 in any element).
