Course summary

This programme is designed to help anyone wishing to kick start a creative career or make a change in the direction and nature of their work. Students will work on real commercial projects as well as developing their own USP so that they leave with a concrete body of work and having had genuine, hands on experience of filmmaking, video production and creating original content for an audience. With a clear focus on deepening their understanding of how to access audiences, this course aims to further develop recent graduates from creative courses but also as a stepping stone for others to shift the direction of their career. Our ‘learning through practice’ ethos underpins all aspects of the course. Students are able to immerse themselves in the world of content creation and will be supported by a network of industry professionals.

Modules

RACTISE AND PROCESS Uncover your own ways of working and leading on projects. Find out what stops you being in action and take steps to streamline your working process. Discover how story is at the centre of all impactful content. ACTION RESEARCH Set up an enquiry into an area of content production/leadership/making impact or creative practice which will impact your major project. ENGAGEMENT Discover about what makes audience members keep watching…and what makes them switch off and learn how to maintain this as a key priority in all of your projects. Think about methods of raising funds here. COMMUNITY Creating content which has impact is front and centre of our ethos at Screenology - discover how your filmmaking can change the world, in big ways and small, one film at a time. MAJOR PROJECT This is where you’ll develop your career entry portfolio. You could create a commercial showreel, a documentary, web content or a videography portfolio. Alternatively you may choose to make a short or get a feature into development. Whatever you choose for your final portfolio, you’ll be supported every step of the way with 1:1 mentorship.
