Course summary

The Parasitology programme will offer a broad-based education in modern Parasitology, incorporating a very large element of module choice. You can either choose to study the general MSc Parasitology programme and choose from a variety of optional modules, based on your interests, or you can choose to follow one of the three specialims: MSc Parasitology (Biomedical) MSc Parasitology (Wildlife) MSc Parasitology (Genomic) You will:

  • Study at a recognised centre for parasitology research.
  • Train in a department with broadly-based expertise in all of the major platyhelminth groups, ectoparasitic arthropods and parasitic Protozoa - and employing study approaches ranging from the whole organism to the molecular level.
  • Study a flexible programme with a varied choice of modules

Postgraduate Scholarship Skills; Human and Animal Parasitology; Molecular Parasitology; Research Design and Delivery; Parasite Immunology; Research Project in Parasitology.


Entry requirements

Applicants should possess at least a UK lower second class honours degree (2:2) or equivalent in either Biological, Medical, Veterinary Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Pharmacology, Zoology, Biomolecular Science, Biotechnology or Biomedical Lab Technology.
