Course summary

This part-time MSc in Airworthiness provides an academically recognised high standard of qualification in airworthiness, a fundamental part of aviation safety. The course offers flexibility and choice, providing a thorough understanding of airworthiness.This popular degree has been running for almost ten years to meet industry demand for qualified airworthiness specialists who must have both technical knowledge and an understanding of the related regulatory and safety issues. An appreciation of airworthiness issues early in the development stage of a product’s design, modification, or repair process helps the downstream business operation. It also enables a better balance to be struck between cost and safety.

Assessment method

Taught component 50%, Individual research project 40%, Course portfolio 10%. PgDip: Taught component 83%, Course portfolio 17%. PgCert: Taught component 100%

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:

Entry requirements

1st or 2nd Class UK Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. If you are an international student you will need to provide evidence that you have achieved a satisfactory test result in an English qualification. The minimum standard expected from a number of accepted courses are as follows: IELTS - 6.5; TOEFL - 92; Pearson PTE Academic - 65; Cambridge English Scale - 180; Cambridge English: Advanced - C; Cambridge English: Proficiency - C.
