What will I learn? This high level qualification is the equivalent of the first one/two years of a degree and is ideal for students who have completed Level 3 qualifications in Performing Arts and wish to prepare for employment in industry or progression onto university. The skills that are developed on this course and the training you will receive enable students to become professional performers, and theatrical practitioners. Students will work to run a theatre company, find funding and create work in a variety of genres for a wide variety of clients. As part of your studies you will also be expected to not only visit numerous examples of the art form but to take your work on tour. The first year of the course leads to a BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate (equivalent to 1st year of a university degree). The second year course leads to a BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (equivalent to 2nd year of a university degree). Units covered

How will I be assessed? Students will be assessed through production and performance assessment, written reflection, written assignments, coursework, presentations and computer related project work. The majority of emphasis will be on practical application of the assessment criteria, providing realistic scenarios and making maximum use of work-related practical experience. Where will it lead me?

The requirements for this course would be a Merit In a relevant BTEC level 3 qualification, at least a C in a relevant A Level Subjects or a total of 120 UCAS tariff points. We sometimes also consider students who possess a high level of experience in industry but no formal qualifications.
