Our experts work at the intersection of social anthropology and development studies. Globally, Sussex is well-known for its teaching and research in international development. You'll also be part of one of the UK's largest Anthropology departments. Anthropologists approach development at a human scale. They do this through immersive field research and observation. The MA focuses on issues of anthropological engagement, development policy and activism. You will: -learn from anthropology experts who are applying their research to real-world scenarios -put theory into practice through hands-on training, analysing case studies and your dissertation -connect with our global network of research partnerships, alumni and professionals -enjoy guest lectures, career events, and the opportunity to do a research placement.
