Course summary

This course equips you with the knowledge, understanding, skills and aptitudes to undertake advanced research. This includes doctoral research in the social sciences, arts and humanities, or in either the public or private sector. The qualification meets the learning outcomes at Certificate level in the national higher education qualifications framework. This Research Training PGCert is delivered at faculty level in an interdisciplinary environment and is relevant to students from a wide range of disciplines. It is also open to international students in the second or third year of PhD courses in their own country who want to study abroad for a minimum of six months.


Entry requirements

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in any social science or arts and humanities discipline. We will also consider your application on an individual basis if you have lower qualifications and relevant experience. International Students To study this course you need to meet our Band 3 English Language requirements: Direct Entry : IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills) If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a pre-sessional English course. Our typical English Language requirements are listed as IELTS scores but we also accept a wide range of English Language tests.
