Course summary

This course is for individuals wishing to develop higher-level professional skills relevant to the construction and build environment sector. This programme incorporates a combination of traditional classroom teaching, open learning and research based experiential learning, laboratory experiments and demonstrations, use of surveying equipment, industry standard IT applications and group activities. Many assignments are based around students' own work experiences. The course comprises mandatory and optional units. The mandatory units are: Level 4 Individual Project Construction Technology Science and Materials Construction Practice and Management Legal and Statutory responsibilities in Construction Construction Information (Drawing, Detailing, Specification) Surveying, Measuring and Setting Out Level 5 Group Project Contracts & Management Project Management Management for Complex Buildings Students will complete additional modules selected by the course team. Qualification requirements

You will need: - 4 GCSEs (Either grade A-C or grade four and above), including English and Mathematics Plus one of the following: • BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in construction or civil engineering • 2 relevant A Levels • Access course with industrial experience • Extended Diploma in CBE. Minimum grades apply (please ask for details). • Mature students with a relevant industrial background may also be considered subject to interview.
