Have you ever thought about working towards a degree, but decided against it as you are already in employment or volunteering and don’t want to give that up? Our FdA Education in Practice course is designed for you if you are working and supporting children in primary, secondary, special schools or learners in a further education college. This work-based Foundation Degree programme is a combination of practice-based learning and campus-based teaching sessions that take place once a week, allowing you to continue working or volunteering throughout the course. Throughout the two-year programme, you will integrate your previous experience of working with children into your studies. Entry requirements for advanced entry (i.e. into Year 2 and beyond)
If you’ve recently completed or studied modules as part of a previous qualification, you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Once you have submitted an application for the programme, you will need to complete the relevant paperwork for RPL as well. You will normally have a minimum of 1 years’ experience (two years is desirable) in a voluntary or paid role in a relevant setting. Applicants are expected to have a current (or prospective) voluntary or paid role in a relevant setting for at least 12 hours a week and have written support from the setting.
