Cardiff Metropolitan University has opted into the TEF and received a Silver award.
The BSc (Hons) Business Information Systems degree is designed to develop your knowledge and expertise in the analysis, development and application of information systems. The course will expose you to the state-of-the-art theories, technologies and research that will shape and transform society over the next decade. You will gain a deep understanding of the importance of IT and computing in society, and the impact of information systems to the economy. The course will give you a solid grounding in the theoretical foundations of information, technology and systems applied to modern business environments. You will develop your programming skills, and learn to apply these skills on web-based applications. Broadening options will address the design of information systems for global business, data and knowledge management, multimedia and interaction, operations management, cyber security and business intelligence. You will develop highly transferable computational thinking, analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a broad range of business and data skills. Graduates are able to operate as software developers with a critical understanding of the importance of business information systems to global commerce. Business Information Systems graduates enjoy careers across many sectors - IT and telecoms, digital and creative industries, financial and professional services, management consultancy and the wider public sector.
