This module aims to provide students with a theoretical understanding of the principles and practice of vestibular rehabilitation. It also considers implications for service delivery. Module content:

  • Psychosocial assessment of patients with vestibular disorders
  • Theories of rehabilitation in relation to balance disorders
  • Identification of range of resources needed to support patients with vestibular disorders
  • Outcome measures in vestibular rehabilitation
  • Delivering patient/client centred services using shared decision making principles.

Assessment method

Assessment is by coursework submitted throughout the course. Coursework will take the form of 4 short essays (700 words) and a final 2,000 word essay.
