Course summary
This course is for students who aspire to a career in business analytics across sectors such as technology, logistics, retail, finance, banking, insurance and healthcare. Potential roles may include Business Analyst, Consultant or Product Manager. Students will learn data analysis techniques, such as descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive analytics, social media analytics, optimisation and forecasting. Students will be taught how to apply these techniques to real-life problems with industry case studies and guest lectures from across various sectors. This new programme has been created in collaboration with IBM and LV Insurance and is informed by the latest research in Business Analytics. 78% of the School of Management's research is rated as world leading or internationally excellent (REF 2014), reflecting its impact in shaping policy and practice.
