This course explores the dynamic and exciting travel and tourism industry. Using a combination of practical and academic approaches, you will learn about operational practice as well as the strategic development of the UK and international travel and tourism. Whether you are new to the travel and tourism business or have experience of working in a related organisation the qualification will enhance your career prospects. On successful completion of the HND you will have the option to top up the qualification to a full Bachelor’s degree at university or enter employment, including roles within airlines, travel agents, tour operators and other travel and tourism organisations at a higher level.
This course will combine academic and practical assessments. You will study eight units each year that will cover a range of themes and activities within the industry and are designed to develop your management skills as well as to broaden your knowledge of travel and tourism. Units may include: Tour Operations Research Project Sustainable Tourism Special Interest Tourism Legislation and Ethics Resort Management Incoming and Domestic Tourism The Developing Manager. You will be offered the opportunity to participate in trips and visits during the course. These are designed to aid your coursework and enhance your ability to achieve.

You will need: Travel & Tourism BTEC HNC 32 UCAS points from A-Levels, OR BTEC Level 3 Diploma/Extended Diploma in Travel & Tourism OR Equivalent Level 3 qualification. We welcome applications from mature students who will be considered individually on experience rather than qualifications.
