Course summary

This programme has been designed to meet the needs of the workforce. It provide a means by which practitioners, employed within a learning environment, can obtain a recognised qualification specific to their field and become more effective in their role by an increased reflection on practice. It is a full-time programme and you will spend one day a week studying in college. This is designed for adults who work or volunteer in formal and informal educational settings e.g. Learning Support Assistants Youth Workers You will develop an understanding of the variety of roles played by professionals and practitioners in both formal and informal educational settings, enabling you to locate your own place and contribution through developing personal and professional skills. A broad and balanced knowledge and understanding of the principal features and theoretical perspectives of working with children and young people You will develop your knowledge of inclusive educational practice from beyond your specific setting into the local, national and international arena. A reflective practice module based on professional standards within the workforce will underpin the study period to ensure strong links are constantly reviewed between theory and practice.
