Course summary

With our MSc Hospitality, Events and Tourism Management, you’ll gain an introduction to key concepts including:

  • psychology of consumer behaviour
  • how to create a marketing plan
  • hospitality operations
  • strategic financial management.
You don’t need to have studied hospitality, events or tourism management and prior work experience is not required. Our unique Bacchus Mentoring Programme gives you one-to-one support from a senior professional. They will help to develop your professional skills and advise you on your future career. You will also have opportunities to interact with professionals, employers and alumni. This means you can develop your networking skills and gain useful, global contacts for the future. If you apply for the sandwich mode, you will undertake a one-year, paid work placement, after completing the taught part of the course. You will be fully supported in finding a placement and supervised throughout.

Assessment method

You will be assessed on individual coursework and your dissertation. As well as an examination for the strategic financial management module.


Entry requirements

Normally a minimum of a second-class honours degree or equivalent in any subject. Entry will be subject to two satisfactory references (one of these must be an academic reference). Please note that although useful, prior work experience in the hospitality and tourism industry is not a requirement for this course.
