Course summary

The programme will be attractive to those to those who prefer study of a more vocational nature and are interested in innovative teaching and assessment approaches. It is also relevant to those who wish to further develop through work based learning. This programme suits those who prefer to consider business organisations, and combines skills relating to business management, and will be involved in developing solutions to commercial problems through community engagement and internships to develop the industry based skills. You will develop a broad repertoire of business skills, rather than focusing on one specialism. Students undertake a range of tasks applied to organisations and enjoy developing sophisticated solutions to business problems. Given the broad range of skills learned, graduates have many career opportunities in a diverse range of business roles in a wide range of sectors, including the government and not for profit sectors.

Assessment method

The programme will be assessed through a structured mix of assessments which will include assignments, essays, management reports, industry presentations, field study work, development portfolios, exams, reviews, and blogs. Assessments are designed to focus on employability skills required by the industry. Wherever possible vocational based assessments aim to support critical thinking, the development in managing ICT, communication, numeracy, problem solving, teamwork, critical appraisal, self-management and leadership.
