Course summary

Broaden your scientific knowledge of the environment with this strongly practical course, accredited by the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES).* Use the latest research and technology to investigate environmental issues, and explore the Earth’s natural systems and their physical, chemical and biological interactions. Field classes in the UK and overseas help to develop skills in observation, data analysis and presentation. Pathways through your degree include: Earth Science; Climate; Water; Ecology; Pollution; and Sustainability. Learn to apply your new knowledge and skills to real-world environmental problems, including the opportunity to carry out your own supervised piece of research as part of your final-year dissertation. This could be done in conjunction with a partner organisation, or you may choose to work with external clients on environmental issues as part of a short or year-long placement. *Accreditation is reviewed periodically.
