Course summary
This foundation degree will focus entirely on acting for digital media (Film/ Audio/ Presenting) and will develop actors for the digital entertainment industry. The course is taught by professionals currently practicing in the industry. Students benefit from a rich mix of actor-specific training for digital media, and will graduate with an intellectual and practical understanding and knowledge of the actor’s craft. Students will also develop a working CV/ show reel and the tools necessary to launch an acting career with a strong knowledge base of current and emerging technologies and techniques. Academic skills, such as the ability to conduct research, to critically evaluate source materials, theoretical approaches and arguments, and to write effectively and persuasively will be fundamental to the programme. Students will be encouraged to acquire deep and broad understanding of performance practices, styles and theories of acting for digital media. Alongside this rigorous study, students will be incubating future relationships between emerging actors and directors/ filmmakers.
