Course summary

This course will prepare you with the skills and knowledge for effective salon management. In the first year of the programme at Level 4 you will develop practical skills, knowledge and experience of current and emerging industry developments and trends. You will also prepare for study at Level 5 through the development of the knowledge and skills to be able to effectively manage a salon. You will develop your academic and study skills including undertaking research, academic writing and reflective practice. You will also develop an insight into the hairdressing and beauty industry through the undertaking of research. In the second year of the programme at Level 5 you will prepare for employment or further study through the development of transferable knowledge and skills including management and entrepreneurship. You will develop leadership and management skills in order to be able to effectively manage a salon. You will also develop your skills in business, leadership and management and research skills to enhance employability and support career advancement and undertake a period of work experience.

Assessment method
