Our BA (Hons) Photo & Digital Journalism (with Integrated International Foundation Year) is a four year course, specifically designed to provide international students with the English language and creative skills before they embark on year one of a degree. They say a picture can speak a thousand words – learn the skills to help your pictures tell the most important stories, in print and online, on our new BA (Hons) Photo and Digital Journalism degree at UCA Farnham. The role of the photojournalist has always been crucial but never more so in today’s world, where news is instant through social media. On this course you’ll learn how important it is to capture a moment in time in the right way, how to get to the heart of an issue through your pictures – and how to bring those images to audiences around the world. And you’ll learn about the rise of digital journalism, how audiences digest news via their mobile phones and how imagery plays its part in that. If you’re an aspiring photojournalist, or you want to be a part of the rise in digital journalism, then this course is for you. You’ll be guided by our team of experts and have access to our state-of-the-art facilities within our Film & Media Centre.
For our students coming from a non-UK educational background, UCA has launched an Integrated International Foundation Year, based at UCA Farnham to bring students from around the world to one hub of creativity. This year of preparatory study is designed to give you the skills you’ll need to start your degree in the best possible way – with confidence, solid knowledge of creative practice, study skills and the English speaking and writing skills you’ll need to succeed. You’ll explore a range of creative techniques and develop your portfolio, with your chosen subject in mind. We’ll work with you throughout the year to ensure you’re on the right track and give you the tools to achieve your highest potential on your degree.
