Global Politics (with Integrated Year Abroad at Brussels School of Governance, VUB)

Course summary

How does the political world function? Why and how are decisions made? How should politics and society be organised? If these questions fascinate you, this degree could be for you. Delve into your political interests and explore answers to the questions you’ve always wanted to ask. Choose a specialism and learn how to think critically so you can make your contribution to debates about politics. This course provides you with an encompassing understanding of international politics in a globalised world. The Integrated Year Abroad in Year 2 at the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG) will give you the opportunity to experience the study and practice of politics at the heart of the European Union and still complete your Warwick degree within 3 years. The curriculum focuses on the study of Global Politics with an emphasis on International Relations, International Security, International Political Economy and the role of Europe in the world. It combines existing course content from the undergraduate programmes in Politics and International Studies (PAIS) at Warwick and the Brussels School of Governance at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). During the year in Brussels there will also be opportunities for you to take internship placements as part of your study programme. You will critically engage with theoretical and empirical approaches at two universities in two different educational systems to give you a comprehensive understanding of global political ideas, problems and issues..
