This joint award programme provides various opportunities for you to apply core psychology knowledge within a corporate setting. The course enables you to study business and combine it with the study of human behaviour. From developmental to cognitive study, psychology is a fascinating subject. It’s about bringing the study of human behaviour to practice in a hands-on and meaningful way. Our programme will help you gain applied and employable skills that will help you in future roles within human resources management, executive leadership or advertising and marketing communications. This programme is suitable for students who are interested in studying Psychology, but who do not see themselves working in a therapy or counselling role but more of an Occupational Psychology route, maybe working in hospitals, prisons or schools. This programme is also designed to inspire and facilitate the development of a variety of desirable, transferable skills that will enhance employability in any future career, particularly those valuing deeper interactions with people. Such skills include communication, numeracy, teamwork, critical thinking, computing, independent learning and more. This course is offered as a four-year programme, including an initial Foundation Year. The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto an undergraduate degree. What will I study? Your curriculum will cover subject specific modules in both psychology and business. You'll be equipped with relevant transferable skills to better influence and understand how individuals, groups and organisations are motivated as well as how they think and buy. You'll gain a wide range of skills and competences useful for dealing competently with real-life, practical problems. The course will focus on the ability to think critically and will enable you to analyse and evaluate solutions to complex, real-life problems This programme will help you gain a thorough grounding in qualitative research methods, which will provide invaluable for your future career. It will also help prepare you for research-based postgraduate study, if you choose to continue your studies following graduation. What are my career prospects? Assessment method

As part of the programme you will work with actual business clients to help them solve a real-world problem. You will join two excellent schools in the University and be taught by lecturers from both the Psychology team and the Business School. A range of summative assessment methods will be employed on this course, as follows: Essays and reports Exams Time-constrained assignments Oral Presentations Dissertation.
