This programme is suitable for students who are interested in studying Psychology, but who do not see themselves working in a therapy or counselling role but more of an Occupational Psychology route, maybe working in hospitals, prisons or schools. Such skills include communication, numeracy, teamwork, critical thinking, computing, independent learning and more. This course is offered as a four-year programme, including an initial Foundation Year. The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto an undergraduate degree. As part of the programme you will work with actual business clients to help them solve a real-world problem. You will join two excellent schools in the University and be taught by lecturers from both the Psychology team and the Business School. A range of summative assessment methods will be employed on this course, as follows: Essays and reports Exams Time-constrained assignments Oral Presentations Dissertation.
