Modules

Assessment method
You will be taught via lectures, tutorials and laboratory practical sessions and demonstrations held in one of our well-equipped laboratories. Project work is frequently carried out using the same equipment and test rigs used for advanced research at the university. Throughout your studies, you will have the opportunity to get feedback through weekly SAIL (Score as I Learn) assignments, so you will feel confident in your studies and be able to access support when you need it. A variety of additional assessment strategies to test your ability to apply knowledge and skills is used. Whenever possible, you will be given individual feedback (written and/or verbal) on your progress and your completed coursework prior to formal assessment.

How to apply
International applicants
This course has a subject classification which requires students whose nationality is outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland to have an ATAS certificate, irrespective of country of residence at the point of application.

Entry requirements
Entry requirements for this course are normally: An Honours degree (2:2 or above) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Systems or a closely related science subject area or an equivalent professional qualification. You are also encouraged to apply if you have other qualifications and/or experience and can demonstrate that you are equipped with knowledge and skills equivalent to Honours degree level.
English language requirements
If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
