Course summary

An Education degree at Warwick will give you a deeper appreciation of education’s transformative power. This course explores and analyses education through the disciplines of Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, Politics and History. It addresses key themes such as childhood, creativity, inequalities and diversity. It can open doors to many careers in education and beyond. Critically analysing education in a fast-changing globalised world, BA (Honours) Education will engage you in the contemporary debates about learning and learners. You will think sociologically and philosophically as you grapple with the purpose of education for society in individuals' lives. The course will introduce you to psychology in education and how this shapes understandings of children and childhood. It will enable you to develop your understanding of contemporary educational policy at both global and local levels, while exploring the history and development of educational institutions and systems. You will gain hands-on experience through a work-based placement, with tailored career advice throughout the course. With optional modules to choose across a range of different topics and themes, you will gain a broad range of knowledge and skills to help you progress to where you want to be.

In line with government policy decisions, Home undergraduate tuition fees for the 2024/25 academic year are £9,250. For students who qualify for government-regulated fees (currently students classed as ‘Home’ for fees purposes), the University expects to increase fees in line with any inflationary uplift as determined by the UK Government, if permitted by law or government policy, in the second and subsequent years of your course. International (including EU) fees vary depending on course.
