Course summary

The aim in training is to strike a balance between the interests of the individual trainee, formal professional training requirements, academic requirements appropriate for a doctoral level qualification, and the broader and developing needs of a clinical psychologist within the National Health Service. Placements, academic assignments and detailed research supervision are spread across training and these provide an excellent grounding for individual development. Support is extensive across all aspects of the programme, with innovative placements, a strong publication culture and the opportunity to be involved in all parts of the programme’s development being some of the outstanding features of this training experience.

Assessment method

Clinical competence, clinical skills assessments, professional issues assignments, systematic literature review, service-related project and thesis. The assessments for the programme are currently under review; please consult our website for the latest information.

Entry requirements
