Course summary
Civil engineering combines your creativity with technological and scientific knowledge that can change the world. You will learn how to design and manage high-profile projects. You will study the key components of civil engineering theory and learn the skills necessary to become a civil engineer. By combining individual study and working together in teams you'll learn about:

Modules
In your first year, you will be introduced to the core disciplines and the context of civil engineering such as structural mechanics and strength; geotechnics and hydraulics within a group project based environment. There is also a residential surveying field course and the opportunity to attend skills workshops. In year two, your core subjects will be developed in greater depth and a major design-based project will help you see the application of your studies. In year three, core subjects continue alongside a range of elective modules allowing you to specialise as well as individual and group project work that integrates your learning over the three years.
