Course summary

Research areas include: Political theory and thought; contemporary British politics; European politics (East and West); Latin American politics; nationalism and ethnicity, the politics of the Middle East; conflict management and regime transition; the politics of democratisation, political communication and media policy; environmental politics; migration; public policy and political economy. PhD applications in the following subject areas are particularly encouraged: civil society/social movements, European public policy and governance, and political transition in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America; critical approaches to the theory of international relations and practice of foreign policy; political theory and the history of ideas.
