Course summary
The aim of this degree is to prepare individuals for graduate level employment across the broad range of business management roles within industry or for further study. Specific aims are: To support students in entering the workforce equipped to perform effectively and respond to the economic priorities in the business sector and/or progress to higher level study. To provide students with an authentic and contemporary programme of study that integrates intellectual and practical skills together and encourages students to act with increasing autonomy and minimal supervision and to use initiative in solving problems. Develop in students a systematic understanding of business and management and the complex inter-relationships between disciplines, while embedding the ability to critically reflect on and learn from their experiences of management in a variety of business settings. To develop practical and effective business management skills which demonstrate sound understanding of professional standards required in operational settings. To enable students to develop and demonstrate confidence in applying knowledge and research in unfamiliar and sometimes complex contexts, as would be required in the workplace.
