The challenges facing civil engineers today are endless, as are the career prospects. Diverse and rewarding opportunities exist all over the world in many different employment sectors from transport, flood-risk management and environmental protection, construction and power plant companies to aid agencies and the army. A career in civil engineering demands a combination of technical knowledge and creativity to solve problems and carries the responsibility to change our environment and improve the lives of millions of people.
