Course summary
Course Overview If you’re interested in how the human body functions then you’ll love our Physiology and Pharmacology (with Foundation Year) course. We’ll equip you with a solid foundation in scientific knowledge and prepare you to take on a full honours degree. Why study with us
- The Foundation Year will provide you with an interesting and stimulating grounding in science. You’ll gain a sound understanding of how drugs and medicines can have a beneficial effect on the body and how adverse reactions to pharmaceuticals can arise.
- During your foundation year you’ll build your confidence and become an independent learner. You’ll gain key practical skills in our modern, spacious and well-equipped laboratory facilities.
- Biosciences students study similar modules in Year 1, so you have the chance to switch to another specialist degree to pursue your interests and career goals.
- Enhance your practical skills with a variety of hands-on Biology and Chemistry laboratory sessions and Physics workshops.
- If you progress onto the full degree, you’ll have the chance to go an optional sandwich placement year and gain valuable industry experience.
- You can use this foundation year as an opportunity to get to know other foundation students on different science-based degree programmes.
