Accounting and Finance at Bangor University - UCAS

Course summary

This professionally-oriented programme is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence that are key to succeeding in the dynamic world of multinational companies and international financial markets. Alternatively, you might choose to use the skills and experience to work in the public sector or set up your own business. Our programme is accredited by all the major accountancy bodies, providing graduates with exemptions from many of these bodies’ core examinations. This is a huge advantage as the exemptions will ease the process of becoming professionally qualified, allowing you more time to focus on developing your career. Accounting and Finance play a crucial role in running a successful organisation and contributing to economic growth. Accountants and finance professionals are needed in assessing revenues and expenditures, complying with regulations and providing management, investors, government and other stakeholders with key information for strategic decision-making purposes. You will gain a solid grounding in understanding the role that accounting and financial information plays within organisations, and how to apply this information in such a way that it has a real impact on management decisions and the communication of relevant information to external parties. At Bangor Business School, we have a highly qualified team of leading academics with professional experience and interests in a wide range of accounting and finance topics including: international accounting and financial reporting, taxation, corporate finance, corporate communication, financial markets, and credit ratings. Our academic team is engaged in world-class research in accounting and finance, and regularly works with policymakers in government, regulators and think-tanks. They are dedicated to bringing their insights from the world of policy, research, and professional practice to help you to develop your knowledge and understanding, and realise your potential as an accounting and finance professional.  ‘Placement Year’ and 'International Experience Year’ options are available for this course. You will have the opportunity to fully consider these options when you have started your course at Bangor and can make an application for a transfer onto such a pathway at the appropriate time. You can find more information about these options on our website and if you have any questions, please get in touch. If you don’t have the required qualifications for this degree-level course or are looking to re-enter education after time away from study, then a Foundation Year Programme might be the right choice for you. Please see Accounting and Finance (with Foundation Year) NN4F.
