Course summary

Accredited by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body, this 1-year course is fundamental if you want to progress to university to study Art & Design at degree level. It will give you the opportunity to study a wide range of art and design disciplines before you decide on the area you wish to specialise. We have 6 different art and design specialist disciplines, covering subjects as listed below. These give you the freedom to experiment providing a highly personable method of learning that nurtures, educates, and encourages you. Fine Art and 3D Design Animation and Film Architecture and Interior Design Fashion Design Fashion Communication Graphics and Illustration What to Expect FIRST TERM At the beginning of the first term you will be guided in choosing your specialism disciplines most suited to you (3D Design, Fashion, Visual Communication). With support and advice from your lecturers, you will also consider which universities you wish to apply to. SECOND TERM In the second term, you will apply the skills gained in your first term to a number of projects and live briefs from within specialism disciplines of Fashion, 3D Design, or Graphics & Illustration. You will also explore a variety of themes relevant to environmental, social, and political issues as you develop your portfolio and prepare for university interviews. THIRD TERM In the third term, you will consolidate your practice through a self-directed project. At the end of term, you will showcase your work through an exhibition or show and celebrate your achievements at our graduation ceremony. Please note that there are no government grants for funding for this course. Students will need to be privately financed.
