Complete your graphic design studies with our one-year top-up degree. This programme will enable you to ‘top-up’ your existing skills and qualifications into a full honors degree, if you have previously studied graphic design as an HND or foundation degree. This programme starts each September and is awarded by the University of Surrey. • This course provides a route into careers related to graphic design, illustration, web design, branding, marketing and more • This course can convert your existing qualifications , such as a HND or Foundation degree in a relevant subject, and/or experiences into a full degree • Previous guest visits have included graphic designer Dan Mumford and photographer Clare Strand • The opportunity to work on live briefs for industry clients • Taught at University Centre Farnborough, with modern study facilities and access to the latest software • Being taught over two full days per week, the course also gives you more flexibility in balancing work or family commitments This programme combines conventional graphic design subjects with the new emerging interactive disciplines to reflect current industry aspirations. The programme provides the specialised skills needed for those who go on to work in such areas as graphic design, branding and advertising, web design and multimedia. At Farnborough, you will be involved with live industry briefs, design work placements and international design competitions. You will also be taught the latest Adobe Creative Suite software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and After Effects in up-to-date Apple Mac studios. The design studio is fitted out with large format printers, a 3D printing facility and computerised cutting facility. A degree in graphic design will hone your own design skills and encourage your own creative style that can help set you apart from other candidates when starting your new career. You will also be involved in an internal art exhibition where your designs will be displayed. WHO IS THE PROGRAMME FOR? This degree was designed for students who wish to continue to develop their skills and portfolios to work in the varied graphic design industry. You will have studied a foundation degree or a HND in a relevant subject and would like to gain a full honours degree. Or you might be returning to education after a break, or wish to transfer from another higher education institution. WHAT WILL I STUDY? This top-up degree offers you the opportunity to focus on your select pathway of interest in the field of graphic design as well as undertaking a major personal project.
