TEF Gold
University of Birmingham has opted into the TEF and received a Gold award.
The key to understanding another society is the mastery of the language. From this starting point, you can examine a country's history, its literature and culture; and by comparison you can learn more about our own society. Our BA Modern Languages programme is highly flexible - you can typically study between one and three languages and follow one of our themed pathways. You’ll need to be highly motivated and able to demonstrate a real interest in and flair for languages.

Modules
First-year modules cover a broad base of the subject and are designed to introduce you to ways of studying at university. By the final year the modules you take will become more specialised and reflect the research expertise of the academic staff.
